I'm very interested in hearing on how the installation of the CGA board went as I'm looking to do the same myself. Do you plan on blogging about it still? Also you mentioned the transistors to prevent audio spikes. My unit makes that nasty noise...I'm wondering if they need replacing?

Hey I'm really interested in how you got the colour display working. I'm using it in monochrome at the moment and its slaying me

Thanks for the great info about the S-550. I bought one on eBay for $49 and that included the shipping costs as well. I bought an S-50 back in the late 80's for $1999 so I already have a large sample library ready to covert over to the S-550. This may be old technology but I think the sound is still great. The ability to sample any sound you want is a big plus over ROMplers. With a little electronics knowhow and good maintenance practices, these dinosaurs keep on putting out some cool sounds.

Hello, I am not sure if you speak German. I also own an old S-330 and S-760 so I am interested how you managed to get the converter work. What is the pinout you soldered the CGA to VGA converter with? Any tricks or does it work out of the box when I solder the right pins after the manual?

Thanks and kind regards,
Thorsten
